Montessori Toys and Furniture Cambodia is an online toy and furniture store based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, specializing in Montessori, and Montessori-inspired products, for children of all ages. Here at MTFC our passion is to create child-friendly materials that engage a child’s natural curiosity to learn in order to inspire an innate love of learning that will stay with them for years to come. The two co-founders of this small social enterprise combined one love of carpentry with one passion for education and the hope that in bringing beautifully crafted products to Cambodia, we’d be able to make a real difference. At MTFC, we understand that every action we take can make a huge difference, which is why our SEED Promise is at the heart of everything we do:

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainable wood deriving only from sustainable sources. We will not add to the impact of deforestation. As we grow, we hope to gain our eco-friendly badge and donate funds to organizations which are aiding the regrowth of forests worldwide.

EARTH-FRIENDLY

We are continually in the process of creating the best non-toxic paints and varnishes for our products in order for them to be both child and earth-friendly. Minimal negative impact to our global community is one of our core values.

EDUCATIONAL

All of our products serve an educational purpose, whether social, emotional or academic. Another one of our guiding promises at MTFC is that we only hire employees who lack positive career prospects due to a lack of education and finances through no fault of their own. With ongoing training, education and guidance, we aim to support all of our employees out of poverty and into new career prospects, in order to improve their livelihoods and reduce poverty. All of our staff work on fair wages with ongoing career-development training so they’ll be fully trained carpenters by the time they leave us.

DEVELOPMENT FOCUSED

Here at MTFC we focus on aiding progress and development by: a. offering effective training and guidance to our staff who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to train; b. creating effective and engaging educational resources with a strong focus on ones which support the Cambodian National Curriculum in order to improve education standards across the country; and c. by June 2019, be able to donate 10% profit from every product we sell to improving local schools through donating resources, helping to design and establish child-friendly environments, and the training of teachers up and down the country.With your ongoing support we believe we can make real changes to the lives of children and people throughout Cambodia.“
